BERLIN-LICHTERFELDE (2014)

LICHTERFELDE is a combined cycle gas plant. A much more efficient and environmentally compatible combined cycle gas turbine plant is built in the empty space between the old CHP plant’s cooling towers and Barnackufer The new plant will have total electrical capacity of 300 megawatts (MW) and a thermal capacity of nearly 230 MW, supplying the South western districts of Berlin with efficient supply of electricity and district heating whilst conserving resources.
